Description
The MikroTik Chateau 5G R17 ax marks the next generation in home cellular routing. Leveraging a Release 17 5G modem, it supports advanced carrier aggregation modes and wider band coverage for more stable, higher throughput cellular links.
This model includes 4 built-in LTE/5G antennas and 2 external dual-chain Wi-Fi 6 antennas to optimize both mobile and wireless performance. It runs RouterOS v7 (License level 4), offering full control over VLANs, firewall, QoS, VPNs, and more.
Networking interfaces include 4 × 1 GbE LAN ports and 1 × 2.5 GbE port for high-speed wired backhaul. For power, it accepts 12–28 V DC (via DC jack) and draws up to 27 W under load, with ~18 W under light use.
The unit is passively cooled (no fans) and certified for operation across –40 °C to +70 °C. In terms of cellular capability, it supports 4×4 MIMO downlink, and broad 5G / LTE FDD and TDD bands in both SA and NSA modes.
This device is ideal for homes or small offices that need robust failover or primary cellular connectivity with strong Wi-Fi and wired options, plus deep configurability via RouterOS.
Applications
Home / SOHO, MDU / apartments, remote offices, failover broadband.
It combines modern 5G connectivity, robust Wi-Fi, and wired interfaces, making it ideal for households or small offices needing flexible, high-speed internet without fiber.
