C-Data FD1304E-B1 is a 1U rack-mount EPON OLT for FTTH and enterprise access networks. It offers up to 8 PON ports (4 fixed + 4 optional), 4 × GE uplink ports, and 4 × 10GE SFP+ uplinks. It supports EPON at symmetrical 1.25 Gbps over distances up to 20 km, with support for up to 512 terminal (ONU) connections. Designed for versatility, it includes both Layer 2 and Layer 3 functions for network isolation, routing, and advanced traffic management.

Description

The FD1304E-B1 from C-Data is built for operators and enterprise networks needing scalable, high-performance access infrastructure. It fully complies with IEEE 802.3ah EPON and FSAN standards. The device supports 4 fixed EPON ports plus 4 optional ones, giving flexibility to scale up to 8 PON ports. Each port supports a splitting ratio of 1:64, enabling coverage for up to 512 ONUs.

Uplinks include 4 Gigabit Ethernet (auto-negotiating) ports and 4 × 10GE SFP+ interfaces to handle backbone/aggregation traffic. Management is via out-of-band GE Ethernet port and local console. The FD1304E-B1 includes a feature set for both Layer 2 (VLAN, trunking, RSTP, IGMP, ACL, QoS, port management, traffic shaping) and Layer 3 (static routing, DHCP relay, VLAN interface / VLANIF) functionalities. This allows for more complex network topologies where inter-VLAN routing or forwarding between subnets is required at the access layer.

Reliability features include AC power supply, backup battery unit (BBU) slot (BBU not included), protection switching for PON, automatic fan speed control, and operating temperature range from -15 °C to +50 °C. Its backplane bandwidth is 108 Gbps.
