Description
The CRS418-8P-8G-2S+5axQ2axQ-RM is MikroTik’s all-in-one rackmount Cloud Router Switch combining wired, fiber, PoE, and Wi-Fi capabilities. It is engineered to reduce the number of discrete devices needed in a rack by integrating a high-performance switch, Wi-Fi 6 radio, and routing engine.
It features 16x Gigabit Ethernet ports, of which 8 provide PoE-out (802.3af/at) with a total PoE budget of 150 W. Supplementing these are 2x 10G SFP+ uplink cages for high-bandwidth fiber backhaul. For wireless, it integrates dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (4×4 MIMO) with antenna pigtail provisions (for external antennas) to offer robust wireless coverage in rack environments.
The switching core is a 98DX226S chip; the routing and services are handled by a quad-core IPQ-8072A CPU at 2.2 GHz, paired with 1 GB RAM and 128 MB NAND storage. These specifications enable L3 hardware offloading and strong throughput even under heavy routing loads.
Power is provided via dual AC inputs (100–240 V) for redundancy, with four internal fans to maintain stable thermal performance under load conditions. The unit supports RouterOS v7 (License Level 5) and offers full control over VLANs, QoS, routing protocols, firewall, and wireless configuration.
Externally, the chassis includes dedicated holes for Wi-Fi antenna pigtails, rack ears, and robust mounting design. Its environmental rating is IP20, and it operates reliably from –20 °C to +70 °C.
