Description
The TP-Link Deco X20 is built to provide reliable, high-performance Wi-Fi 6 mesh networking across homes where a single router can’t do the job. With dual-band AX1800 performance (≈ 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz + 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz) and features like OFDMA and MU-MIMO, it manages multiple devices—streaming, smart home gadgets, phones—without congestion.
Each Deco unit includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports for WAN/LAN use, and supports Ethernet backhaul to improve stability or expand capacity. Hardware inside includes a quad-core 1.0 GHz CPU, ~512 MB RAM, and sufficient storage for firmware.
TP-Link’s mesh technology ensures seamless roaming between units under one network name/SSID. The system is easily managed via the Deco app, which includes HomeShield for network protection (IoT protection, malicious site blocking, etc.), guest network support, and flexible operating modes (Router / Access Point).
For users needing mesh coverage but not wanting the complexity or cost of tri-band systems, Deco X20 offers strong value—especially in two- or three-unit setups. It eliminates dead zones and supports up to 150 devices in dense environments while maintaining good throughput.
