Description

The TP-Link TL-SG1218MPE Easy Smart Switch is tailored for small- to medium-sized networks requiring a blend of power and manageability at the edge. It provides 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports compliant with IEEE 802.3at/af, each delivering up to 30W, along with 2 additional non-PoE Gigabit ports and 2 combo SFP ports ideal for fiber connection or uplink flexibility. With a total PoE power budget of 250W, it’s optimized for powering high-demand devices such as PTZ cameras and dense wireless deployments.

Performance is robust, with a 36 Gbps switching capacity, 26.78 Mpps forwarding rate, and an expanded MAC address table of 8K entries. Jumbo frames up to 10 KB and a 4.1 Mbit packet buffer further enhance throughput for large data flows.

Advanced smart management includes VLAN (port/MTU/tag) for traffic segmentation, QoS (port-based, 802.1p/DSCP) for prioritizing latency-sensitive services, IGMP snooping for multicast optimization, LAG for bandwidth aggregation, port mirroring, cable diagnostics, loop prevention, and PoE auto recovery to reboot unresponsive powered devices. These features are accessible via a web GUI and TP-Link’s Easy Smart Configuration Utility.

The switch’s hardware is designed for reliability. It’s rack-mountable in a compact 440 × 180 × 44 mm (17.3 × 7.1 × 1.7 in) chassis, cooled by 2 fans, and includes a physical security lock. It supports 100–240 VAC power input and maintains operation in temperatures from 0–50°C.
