Description
The MikroTik hAP ax S is a high-value Wi-Fi 6 dual-band access point and router designed to provide modern wireless performance and advanced network control for homes, offices, and small businesses. Powered by a dual-core ARM CPU (950 MHz) with 512 MB RAM and 128 MB NAND storage, it runs RouterOS v7 (License level 4) for flexible routing, firewall, VLAN, QoS, VPN, and traffic management without subscriptions.
On the wireless side, the hAP ax S features 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, with a 2×2 configuration on 2.4 GHz and 3×3 on 5 GHz, achieving AX2400 throughput and real-world speeds around 800–900 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. Dual-band support improves coverage and performance for multiple simultaneous clients.
The device also includes 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports with one port supporting passive PoE-out, plus a 2.5G SFP cage for high-speed backbone or fiber connectivity. Powering is flexible with either a standard DC jack (12–28 V) or passive PoE-in (18–28 V), and a USB port allows for peripherals or storage. Compact, robust, and with broad RouterOS feature support, the hAP ax S offers advanced networking in a simple form factor, making it well-suited for users who want more control and scalability than typical consumer routers.
